Krakatoa SB

Three projectiles and an NEQ of 500g (PE)

Krakatoa SB, an enhancement of the renowned Krakatoa shaped charge system, offers a choice of three projectiles. Each of these has undergone significant improvements, enhancing their performance and precision for a more effective target effect.

Krakatoa SB Projectiles

  • Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP)

  • Gladius Fragmenting Projectile

  • Jet Forming Cone (JFC)

Krakatoa SB is fitted with Picatinny rails, which can be used to attach various stands, including tree spigots, tripods, and legs. The rail also attaches the Picatinny sight used for aiming the charge.

Projectile Specifications

Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP)
The EFP is used for long-range destruction of machinery, structures, and materials. Its shallow dish-shaped charge liner is filled with approximately 500g plastic explosive. The EFP can produce a hole approximately 40mm in diameter in 35mm mild steel with a stand-off of 6-50m.

Gladius Fragmenting Projectile

The Gladius projectile can be used to destroy thin-skinned targets such as aircraft and helicopters or factory/IT equipment. It contains 480 steel projectiles designed to produce a linear pattern of projectiles that hit the target from a stand-off of 2-50m. The charge is filled with 350g of plastic explosive and should be aimed at the centre of the targets.

Jet Forming Cone (JFC)

The JFC has a conical-shaped charge liner, which, when filled with plastic explosive, can penetrate 150mm mild steel with a hole diameter of approximately 18mm.
