Gladius

Vesuvius is a highly versatile, powerful, and precise user-filled shaped charge system for anti-armour, demolition, and EOD applications. It offers two projectile options:

    • Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP)
    • Gladius Fragmenting Projectile
Vesuvius EFP™ uses the Misnay-Schardin effect to explosively form a highly effective penetrator. It can penetrate 60mm mild steel from a stand-off distance of 6-50 metres. This EFP is the larger, more capable version of the Krakatoa SB EFP, providing a highly accurate, powerful stand-off anti-armour and anti-structure effect. The Vesuvius Gladius projectile can destroy thin-skinned targets such as aircraft, helicopters, and factory and IT equipment. It is filled with 348 steel projectiles and designed to produce a linear pattern, hitting the target from a stand-off distance of 2–50-metres. The low fragmentation-producing plastic body features Picatinny Rails, allowing users to attach sighting and stand systems.

To ensure greater accuracy and stability, it is advisable to mount Vesuvius, given the significant amount of plastic explosive needed.

Stand options are available to accommodate different terrains and unit procedures effectively.
